Multiple implants are used to replace multiple missing teeth and their roots. This restorative dental solution takes advantage of implant technology that not only replaces the tooth root but can defer or prevent bone shrinkage that can cause other teeth to shift and change your facial structure.
Dental implants are tiny screws made of titanium that are surgically placed in the jawbone. They take advantage of the body’s natural healing process and through a process called osseointegration, your jawbone tissue will naturally build more tissue around the post to strengthen it and stabilise it into place. Once your jawbone and implant are healed, a dental crown will be secured onto the implant, which will act as your new tooth. If you have consecutive missing teeth, you may be a candidate for a dental bridge that is supported by multiple implants, which can be more cost-effective than a singe implant for each tooth.

Risks and Recovery
Full-arch implant treatments can restore function and stability, but as with any surgical procedure, there are risks and recovery considerations.
Possible risks include:
- Swelling, bruising or discomfort in the days following surgery
- Minor bleeding during the initial healing period
- Infection or delayed healing in rare cases
- Risk of implant failure if proper healing does not occur
- Nerve irritation or sinus involvement, depending on implant placement
Recovery considerations:
- Initial healing usually takes one to two weeks
- Temporary teeth are often provided within days of surgery, with final teeth placed after full healing
- Full osseointegration of implants typically requires several months
- Patients are advised to follow a soft diet during early healing and attend all follow-up visits
