A Fixed Option When Dentures Aren't Cutting It
For many people, the decision to explore full arch implants comes after years of managing with dentures that slip, limit what they can eat, or simply don’t feel secure. Others are facing the loss of most or all of their remaining teeth and want to understand their options before they get there.
What Is All-On-4 Plus®?
All-On-4 Plus® places four or more implants per arch at carefully calculated angles to make the most of available bone. The angled positioning of the rear implants allows this approach to work even where some bone loss has already occurred, often without the need for extensive grafting.
Treatment follows a structured protocol covering digital planning, surgical preparation, implant placement, and Immediate Final Teeth™ fitted within 24 to 48 hours. Whether it suits your situation depends on bone density, general health, and what a thorough clinical assessment shows. Outcomes vary between patients.
Is This the Right Path for You?
Full arch implant treatment is a major decision. These are the factors we look at when assessing suitability.
How the Process Works
At Diggers Rest Dental House, every All-On-4 Plus® case is individually planned before any treatment begins. The protocol involves four stages.

Digital planning and facial analysis
3D CBCT scanning and Digital Smile Design software map your bone structure, bite, and facial proportions in detail. You'll be able to see a simulation of your potential outcome before any decisions are finalised. (1 visit, approximately 90-120 minutes)

Treatment planning review
Your digital plan is reviewed in full, covering implant positioning, restoration design, timeline, and any preparatory steps such as bone grafting or extractions if required. (Same visit or follow-up, approximately 45-60 minutes)

Preparatory work
Any remaining teeth requiring removal are extracted, and the bone and gum tissue are carefully reshaped to create a stable foundation for implant placement. (Timing varies depending on individual circumstances)

Implant placement
Four or more implants are placed according to your digital plan, with angled positioning of the rear implants to optimise stability and reduce the need for grafting in many cases. (Full day appointment, approximately 3-4 hours)

Immediate Final Teeth™
Within 24 to 48 hours of surgery, your custom-designed Immediate Final Teeth™ are fitted, matched to your gum contours, smile line, and bite. These are your final teeth from the start, not a temporary placeholder.

Ongoing maintenance
Professional maintenance every three to six months is what keeps the implants healthy over the long term. It's a non-negotiable part of the treatment. (Every 3-6 months, ongoing)

Risks & Recovery
All-On-4 Plus® is a significant surgical procedure. Understanding the risks and what recovery involves is an important part of making an informed decision.
Possible risks include:
- Swelling, bruising, and discomfort in the days following surgery
- Some bleeding during early healing
- Infection or delayed healing at implant sites
- Implant failure if osseointegration does not occur as expected
Recovery considerations:
- The bulk of initial healing takes place over the first one to two weeks
- A soft diet is necessary during early healing and needs to be followed carefully
- Full bone integration takes several months, during which your Immediate Final Teeth™ are functioning
- Missed maintenance appointments carry real risk to long-term outcomes

Any questions?

What makes Immediate Final Teeth™ different from a temporary bridge?
Standard full arch protocols fit a temporary bridge after surgery, then replace it with permanent teeth months later once healing is complete. With Immediate Final Teeth™, the final restoration is custom-designed before surgery using Digital Smile Design and fitted within 24 to 48 hours of placement. The integration process continues over the following months, but you’re not waiting on a second procedure to get your final teeth.
Will I need bone grafting?
Not necessarily. Angled implant placement is designed to work with the bone available, which allows many patients to avoid the grafting required by other implant approaches. Where bone volume, density, or bite forces require extra support, additional implants or targeted grafting may be recommended after your assessment.
What does long-term maintenance involve?
Every three to six months, your Diggers Rest team will carry out professional cleaning around the implants and prosthetic components and check the health of the surrounding bone and tissue. Between visits, specific home care tools and techniques recommended for your prosthetic type keep everything clean day to day.
