Digital Smile Design Technology

Digital Smile Design is a system that uses the latest diagnostic tools allowing us to take photos, scans and digital x-rays that will be used to begin planning your treatment protocol. Intraoral scans will record images of your lips, gums and smile and how they interact with your teeth, which provides a way to diagnose structure issues within the mouth or jaw area. Video recordings of your facial features in motion give us a full picture of your current smile and helps us fine tune a treatment plan for you.

The DSD system provides a fully customised treatment plan to bring you the smile you desire and deserve. You are the most important part of this system and the technology allows for improved communication between you and your team of dental professionals. You will choose your smile and when you are happy with the look, we will provide the treatments needed with the least downtime, as we provide the most natural looking smile to enhance your features and highlight your personality.

The DSD Treatment Path

Your first visit for Digital Smile Design is an exam in which we gather all diagnostic data, which may include x-rays, photos, 3D images, and videos. This is a chance for you to ask any questions and share your goals about your ideal smile.

All of the data will be uploaded into the DSD software system, which helps us create a future smile for you.

On your next visit, you can see how your new smile will look and make any changes or alterations. Also called a “mock-up,” this future vision of your smile will be altered until you are happy with how your new smile will look. Now we can create a treatment path to bring your new smile to life.
